Video Conferencing

At Aldersbrook we are part of the Redbridge Video Conferencing Network. This means our children take part in Video conferences with children and companies across the world.

On Tuesday 30th October 2018, years 4, 5 & 6 video conferenced with Chris Lubbe in South Africa. Chris Lubbe is Nelson Mandelas former bodyguard and it was great to hear his stories and experiences. Chris answered quetions that the children had and gave a very honest and clear account of his time serving Nelson Mandela.

On Monday 3rd December 2018 3H were asked to take part in a video conference with other schools to discuss animals and the impact humans have on their environment with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. This was a great opportunity for children to represent the school in discussing the current issue. We spoke to the BOS foundation, who live in Indonesia, about what we could do to help this critically endangered species. Children were able to ask any relevant questions they may have for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation.

On Wednesday 13th March 2019 our Friendship ambassadors video conferenced with Barley Lane Primary to discuss anti bullying week. We discussed what we do as a school to prevent bullying and how we support one another. THe ambassadors had to present their response to the question:  What would you do if you knew there was another pupil at your school, who was being called bad names by older pupils on a regular basis?
