As a parent/carer of an Aldersbrook school pupil, you automatically become a member of the PTA. Our PTA members also include teachers, non-teaching staff, governors and site manager.
The PTA aims:
- to fundraise for the school to directly benefit our children. Last year thanks to lots of hard work we were able to buy equipment for a Story Garden (including an amazing storytelling chair), a climbing wall and other playground equipment as well as funding Christmas entertainment and discos for Halloween, Valentine's Day and the Year 6 Leavers.
- to organise social events to bring the school community together, to have some fun.
- to improve communication and dialogue between parents/carers and the school.
- We aim to meet at least once a term after school hours. You can find details of meetings in the school newsletter, noticeboards in the playground and on our Facebook page - www.facebook.com/aldersbrookpta.
There is a core committee who work with other parents and staff to organise both social and fundraising events and we welcome anyone who wants to get actively involved.
Volunteers can help in lots of ways from helping out on a stall at the Summer/Christmas Fair, baking and cooking for various events, donating goods, or setting up for an event or clearing up afterwards.
WHO ARE THE P.T.A.?
Everyone who is associated with our school, Parents, Carers, Teachers, Non-Teaching Staff, Governors, even the site manager, are automatically members of our P.T.A.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The P.T.A. organise a wide range of both Fundraising and Social Events throughout the year. Fundraising Events raise money for the school to pay for much needed extras which benefit our children by enhancing the school curriculum and improving the school environment. Social Events provide the opportunity for the school community to get together and have some fun while raising extra funds for the school.
WHAT DO WE SPEND P.T.A. FUNDS ON?
All of the funds raised by the P.T.A. are put directly back into the school. The Head Teacher, Teaching Staff and P.T.A. Committee get together to decide what to spend P.T.A. funds on at any particular time.
WHO MANAGES THE P.T.A.?
The P.T.A. is managed by a Core Committee of friendly and enthusiastic, volunteer Parents who work together with other Parents and Staff of the school to organise a wide range of both Social and Fundraising Events for the school throughout the year. Although we put a lot of time and energy into these projects, we have a great deal of fun organising them and our efforts are rewarded when the events are successful.
