Year 6 recently took part in a 'Body Boundaries, Consent and Respect' workshop. This session empowered our pupils and helped them understand the importance of personal boundaries, consent and cultivating a culture of respect. It also provides our pupils with practical insights and tools, equipping them with valuable skills as they navigate the transition to adolescence. This year, our online safety workshop will be delivered virtually by 'The 2 Johns'. This will take place in the evening between 8pm - 9:30pm on Monday 27th November 2023.

Year 5 recently visited the British Museum to explore the Kingdom of Benin exhibition. Exploring artefacts and unravelling the history of this ancient kingdom, the visit provided a vivid and enriching glimpse into a bygone era.
Aldersbrook Primary School is proud to actively participate in Anti-Bullying Week 2023 through a range of impactful initiatives. We had workshops that were delivered by a passionate ex-student who understands the challenges young people face. Their personal journey and insights inspired and empowered our pupils.
In addition to this, we had special assemblies delivered in collaboration with the Christian Education Project. These assemblies focused on promoting kindness, empathy, and respect, while addressing the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. We're excited to come together as a school community to raise awareness and stand up against bullying during this important week.
Year 6 visited the war memorial in Wanstead during shared writing week to draw inspiration from the stories of courage and sacrifice, weaving those narratives into their collective understanding of history.
Year 4 visited the Science Museum this week to take part in the 'It Takes Guts Workshop'. They learnt about the digestive system and explored exhibitions related to the human body and medicine!
Year 5 went off into space using VR headsets to learn about our solar system and planets.
Year 4 visited the British Museum to learn more about Ancient Egypt's greatest achievements!

We had some special visitors in school this week
EYFS had Theo the Leyton Orient mascot pop in
The upper years had a visit from Theo Archibald and Jayden Sweeney two footballers from the club who held an assembly on anti-bullying as well as a Q & A session about being a professional footballer.
The players had with them the League 2 Champions Trophy.
