Virtual Assembly - Friday 17th July 2020
Published 17/07/20The FINAL Virtual Assembly of the year presented by a special, but not so fabulous, guest host. Final examples of good work, updates from school and the attendance cup. Has anyone seen Mr Hughes?
UPDATE: 16:00 (17.07.20) Trunchbull really did have the last laugh and managed to cut the end off the video. However, that's all resolved now and she's in the Chokey. The video has been fixed. So, if you didn't see the final 3 minutes, go back and watch it. It is worth the wait.

Getty Artwork Recreation Challenge
Published 22/04/20I know that it is Easter holidays and many of you are having a well-deserved break but we thought we would send out some information about a great Art challenge that you may want to take part in while we are all on lockdown if you wanted a fun way to fill in some time and learn about Art! Despite museums closing their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a chance for your child/ren to feel artistically inspired from the comfort of their homes.
Last week, the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles sent out a tweet asking individuals self-isolating at home to recreate their favourite pieces of artwork. But there’s a catch: Pupils had to make their masterpieces using everyday household items. In other words, pretty much anything goes! Artists can select images from the Getty’s online photo archive, which contains two million images from the museum’s massive collection of paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures.

Aspirations Week 2020
Published 29/01/20Aldersbrook Primary School had an awesome aspirations week. There are two main foci:
1. To raise the profile of personal qualities such as resilience, team work, determination, focus and drive.
2. To encourage children to think about how they will contribute to their local and wider community when they are older - both through paid and voluntary work.
We had some inspirational speakers come into school to talk to all year groups about their chosen careers. These included visitors from the world of Banks, Medical, Fire and Rescue Service, Publishers, Therapists, Actors and many many more. This will not only provided us with some ideas for our future careers, but also show us ways in which we can be valuable and responsible members of society. It will motivate us to think about our learning behaviours and how we can apply these across the whole curriculum.
Thank you to our volunteer parents for giving up your time to come to talk to us and to Goddard's Vet Hospital, Eton Manor Girls Rugby Team, Banardos, Elsa Arnold and the London Air Ambulance.
