School Closure and Home Learning

School Closure and Home Learning

We hope that everyone remains safe and well while school is closed. Please continue to follow government advice to stay at home. More information for this can be found through the government website.

Further updates regarding school closure will continue to be sent through the Arbor Parent Portal, so please ensure your details are up to date.

Our home learning resources through SeeSaw have been a wonderful way for children to continue learning at home and stay in touch with their class teacher. We are trying to get the balance of this right; some people want more; some people want less. Please get your child to do the right amount for them - you know them best of all, and they know the standard they can work to! Teachers are sending activities that the children can do independently wherever possible. Thank you for your positive feedback and praise for teaching staff during the closure, it is greatly appreciated.

For the two weeks of the Easter Break, ‘choice activities’ will be sent to all children, including wellbeing activities, as we give teachers a break to ensure their wellbeing too. SeeSaw activities will continue from Monday 20th April.

There is now an advice line for families who might be having issues with relationships or wellbeing and parents can access it through the Family Information Service (FiND) website.

For any families eligible for Free School Meals who are struggling at the moment - please email the school admin account or call and leave a clear message if there are ways that we can support you at this time. Government food vouchers have now been sent out to all families eligible for Free School meals and these should now be received each week. If you are not receiving these please check your email details with the school. We are still waiting for clarification if the food parcels will also be distributed in addition to this.

If you would like to contact us at all, for whatever reason, during school closure, please email admin.aldersbrook@redbridge.gov.uk .

Please continue to check emails for updates from us.

Stay at home.
