Mental Health Support Team (MHST)
At Aldersbrook, we are proud to be working in partnership with the Redbridge Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to promote the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils and families.
The MHST works closely with staff, children and parents to provide early support and practical strategies to help with emotional wellbeing.
how does the mhst work in our school?
-
Brain Buddies – a weekly programme delivered to pupils in Year 5, focusing on building skills to understand, identify and manage emotions through self-care, self-calming and thinking strategies.
-
Coffee Mornings & Workshops – informal sessions for parents and carers on key themes such as emotion regulation, resilience, and supporting children’s wellbeing at home.
-
Direct Family Work – offering additional support for families who may benefit from more personalised guidance and strategies around anxiety or behaviour.
Why this matters
We know that children’s mental health and wellbeing are central to their learning and development. Our partnership with the MHST helps us strengthen the support available in school and at home, creating consistent strategies for children to thrive emotionally and academically.
